Final Tranche -- We will use Flender funds to continue the rapid expansion of our business. We are planning on moving to a new retails store in Carrigaline, Co.Cork.
As a fisherman by trade, Cathal is able to discern between high quality and poor-quality product. This has helped him to build a reputation as the go to outlet for quality cooked fish – that stands apart from the inferior quality and processed offerings typically offered by traditional “chipper” outlets.
People go out of their way to return time after time. This has served to prove the concept. Cathal is now in the process of adapting his offering to a retail model in a dense and high footfall area in Carrigaline, Co. Cork.
The restaurant will offer the most authentic fish and chips experience in Carriagline and indeed Cork. Section three of this plan goes into detail on the menu. Many fast food style takeaways have been established in the area but quality is often sacrificed in favour of cheap ingredients and poor production methods. Catch of The Day, on the other hand, will offer a full range of authentic high-quality fish takeaway dishes to tailor to an audience that seeks taste and quality.
We will be using Flender funds to fit out and decorate a new premises in Co.Cork. This includes equipment, contractors and materials.
Over the past two and a half years, Cathal O’Donovan has been testing the market degree of taste and demand for a speciality fish and chip style menu. He has done so from a mobile catering unit that was open only three days per week. The mobile unit has been extremely popular and successful. It has achieved a great revenue over the last twelve months’ despite the limited opening hours and mobile location. People went out of their way to return time after time. This has served to prove the concept. Cathal is now in the process of adapting his offering to a retail model in a dense and high footfall area in Carrigaline, Co. Cork.

He is seeking bank finance to assist him in the capital expenses associated with setting up “Catch of The Day”.
Catch of The Day is a speciality cooked fresh fish outlet, specialising in fish and fish only, no meat, no processed foodstuffs, just high quality, fresh and trustworthy quality takeaway meals.
